COMPLETED - THANKS! Help needed finding Annie & John FOSTER
« on: Friday 07 August 09 08:31 BST (UK) »
I have come to a stumbling block on my family tree and need some help! I have George David Foster born 19/07/1884 in Blenheim, Marlborough, New Zealand however his parents are a bit of a mystery.  All I know is his parents were John and Annie Foster (probably from the Blenheim area in the 1880s).  Any help anyone can give is appreciated!

Hi, you could start by getting his birth cert. It will tell you parents names, occupation, ages and mother's maiden name. John is listed on 1881 elec roll as a carpenter living in Warwick St, Blenheim. They were still there in 1893 roll.

Having a look on Paperspast there are birth notices for a couple of children in the Marlborough Express.
Daughter on 29 Mar 1883 at Warwick St.
Death of a daughter in early March 1883 (Minnie Constance)

Did not look on the BMD site, but did look on the CD and there is a marriage for a John FOSTER to an Annie THOMSON in 1881 which is a possibility. There are THOMSONs mentioned in the Marlborough Express also.

:)  Thanks all.  The last post from Althea was the right one as Ada was a sister to George David Foster, parents Annie Peckham and John Foster.  The Peckham name rang a bell with someone in the family.
