Hello
From what I can see James Martin married Catherine Aird in 1939 in Blysthwood, Glasgow.
To follow the line the only way to be sure is to create an account on Scotland's People web site and down load the marriage certificate. The Scottish records are extremely helpful as they record the parents details. The Scottish birth record will also tell you the details of the parents marriage date & location. e.g find the marriage cert then the birth of James Martin. It may well lead back to James Martin and Catherine Docherty. If it does I have further information. The death record of your Catherine should also give further details.
The cost is £7.50 for 30 credits. Each certificate will cost you 5 credits and 1 credit to look at the index e.g in theory if you have the correct record you can get 5 certificates for your money. It is quite easy to use once you get used to it.
May I ask in which country you are in?
Happy to help.
