I think pre 1858 wills were proved in church courts. Some county RO's have indexes of pre 1858 wills but it can be hard otherwise. TNA has PCC wills online. PCC meaning Prerogative Court Of Canterbury.

You are right but the problem is always finding out which court had jurisdiction over the parish(es) in which he owned property.  Prior to middle of the 19th century about 10% of parishes didn't belong to the obvious archdeaconry and counties were often split between two archdeaconries  but this latter case doesn't apply to Huntingdonshire.  The top of the tree is of course the PCC which is always worth checking because it is so easy to do.
