William Henry (1810) is my great great great grandfather.

WHP1810 ->WHP1839 ->Herbert Brooks Perry 1877 -> Arthur Brooks Perry 1905 -> Alan Perry 1936 -> Me

I have little information on the Perry's so far but am willing to share

my email is wkd-1@hotmail.co.uk

I am so excited as to having found a previously unknown relative. Do you use GenesReunited? most of my tree info is on there but i use a GSP family tree program for the full tree of all families

Regards

Are these dates taken from the marriage registers of St Mary's as I thought the BMD shows the dates as September 1856 and June 1869.

The BMD shows the quarter in which an event took place rather than the actual date.

I htink I've written the dates the American way so apologies!

I think the BMD info has some transcription errors  so this looks more positive - can you confirm where the info comes from please?

Carol

thanks for that, it ties in with what I have.
It is also possible that W H Perry also had an earlier marriage - to Jane Smeeton (as stated in Michael's original post).
I think this is possible because the 1851 census shows WHP as having a visitor that night - Harriet Smeeton - Neice.
Is there any mention of a Jane Smeeton in the marriage register info you have?
Perhaps around 1830.

Phl

Hi all

I don't see a marriage for WHP marrying a Jane Smeeton.

Harriett Smeeton could have been a niece through WHP own family not necessarily through a marriage.  If one of WHP's sisters married a Smeeton then Harriett would be his niece.

If you have WHP in the 1851 census married to a Jane, then it must be Jane Goodwin as she didn't die until 1855

I noticed in one of your earlier replies you thought that WHP was born in Strelley. I have searched Strelley BT's but couldn't see anything for it.
What makes you think he was born there?  In most of the censuses I have found him in he gives his birthplace as just Nottingham.
