Welcome to rootschat hazelanneh.  :)

You can send hec a PM (ie personal message) via rootschat after you have made three posts. So if you just reply to this, you will then have made enough posts to send a PM. (The little number under your name tells you how many posts you've made).

To send a PM you can either click on the person's name or the scroll under their name. If you have any problems, just let us know and we'll try to help.

Good luck.

Ruskie has explained how you can contact Hec privately to share email addresses etc. All the best with the contact. Please see Hec's thread re Sarah which I am about to update.

To Krisesjoint
I read last night the information of Rowland Hill New and now can't find it again! I have been looking for this on the IGI previously without success. I had a list of his siblings from a family letter; but no birth, baptism details for any of them. I particularly need all possible details for his sister Sarah New, who married Philip Leigh. Could you tell me how you accessed the info on Rowland Hill New please?
Hazelanne

Dear Kris,
I am meeting hec today to share info regarding Philip Leigh and his descendants. Can you please post a query on the Devon board re Philip? I only know he said he was formerly of Plymouth on his marriage certificate, had no known parents and used unusual, presumably family names Dunsterville, Lydston (e),Pevrier for his children. He was an apprenticed sailor in 1829 and possibly earlier.
Thanks, Anne

Hi, just found this page regarding Philip Leigh. His father was also Philip and they came from Plymouth, devon. Philip and sarah, who came from devizes, had a daughter, Eliza who married  Louis F Rapp, They had a son. Bernard who married Julia Isabell McFarlane who`s hubby, William McFarlane commited suicide in 1900 after an art deal went wrong! Julia is my wife`s great grandmother, hope this info is of help and if you have any more info on the Australian side of this family, especially why they came to be in Oz, I would be most gratefull. Regards, Martin, town crier, Shrewsbury, England.

Hi Martin,

I'm afraid that none of the people who have connections to your wife's family have been online since 2009.

If they have set up their rootschat profiles to receive notification of replies (and they still have the same email addresses) then they should receive an email telling them there has been a reply on this thread.

Who wouldn't want to be related to Shrewsbury's Town Crier albeit through marriage.  ;)  ;D

Good luck.
