*Completed* WWII Service Records - Interpretation Help
« on: Saturday 22 August 09 15:39 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me with the following acronyms from my Grandads Army records?

I know that CPL refers to Corporal, but I have the following variations (and dates) under the promotions column and would like to understand the difference :-

U/L/CPL 12.9.45
P/L/CPL 12.9.45
U/A/CPL 24.1.46
P/A/CPL 24.1.46
W/CPL 24.4.46

Thanks for your help

Jason
