Baptism - ROLFE/ROLPH - Tring
« on: Wednesday 26 August 09 10:02 BST (UK) »
I am searching for the baptism of Charlotte Rolfe/Rolph born Tring 1798/97.
I have two entries from the IGI  Charlotte baptised 10 Dec 1797 duaghter of Richard Rolfe and Mary Austin [ also a burial notice 22 Sep 1800 - not from registers]
The other is for Charlotte baptised 27 Jun 1802 daughter of Thomas Rolfe and Elizabeth Putnam.

I would be grateful if someone could check these entries to see if the Charlotte buried 1800 is the daughter of Richard and Mary and or if the age of Charlotte baptised 1802 is given.

In the census records her birth is consistently 1797/ 1798 so I am hoping she did not die in 1800 !

many thanks annelsie

Hi Annelsie,

I searched the Tring Parish Records and can confirm the two baptisms.  No birth dates were shown.
The burial entry for 22Sep1800 does not give a name, merely "A child of Richard Rolfe's".

Regards   ...   Peter

Peter - many thanks - sorry for delay in replying to you - problems with elderly relatives have put family history to one side for a bit.
I hope I can assume my Charlotte did not die in 1800 -  thanks again annelsie
