Soldiers discharge papers 1799
« on: Thursday 03 March 05 18:32 GMT (UK) »
Thought this might interest anyone with sodier ancestors.

I got them from The Public records office online.

I had to pay £10 for an estimate for two sets of papers and it only came to about £2.50.  Didn't get a refund but got 4 sheets of copying.

Hi Sylviaann

What information did you give them in the first place?

Kind regards

Thanks for sharing that with us Sylviaann.  It's always useful for people to see what is available and what they will get for their money.

Jen, some years of the index are online "procat" see;

http://www.catalogue.nationalarchives.gov.uk/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=14

Search their catalogue by surname with the class ref: WO97 for soldiers' discharge papers.
