George Cook, 26, lab. of West Tisted, son of William, lab., married Eliza Merritt, 26, of [Old] Alresford, daughter of James, lab., at West Tisted, 1 Jan.1859.
George appears in the 1851 census in West Tisted aged 20 together with mother Ann (52). He was baptised in the village on 4 July 1830, son of William and Ann. Yours Jane

Thanks for that info!  I have Eliza Merritt born in Ropley abt. 1831.
They lived in Tichborne and then Hinton Ampner I believe.
Do you know Anns maiden name?
Do you know if Eliza's mother was called Sarah and her maiden name?  Many thanks,  Maggie

Eliza Merritt baptised 1 April 1832 in Ropley, daughter of James & Sarah (possibly nee Butler married 1 Jan 1813).

George Cook(e) - can't find his parents' marriage at the moment.  :(

The details came from a transcript of the parish register.
