Does anyone know where this is please
« on: Wednesday 02 September 09 17:41 BST (UK) »
I attach a photo of an Italian ancestor - looks like arriving somewhere in Uk by boat, although it could be stood on a pier. Pretty certain its UK, as there are a number of beachhuts in  the background.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Paul

Could be Bournemouth:

The building with a dome and arch on the far right of your picture could be the one slightly left of centre in the Francis Frith picture.

I'd go with Bournemouth too, those white buildings look the same and the incline of the hill.

Spot on.  You can identify the building with the dome and three arches on the beachfront.
