Keith,

Just to suggest you have a wee peep at the home pages of the FreeCEN Clackmannanshire project:

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~sctclkfc/

Under Clackmannanshire Notes, you will find quite a bit of information I have compiled about the parishes and population of Clacks in the 19th Century (together with a map), and also a list of relevant books about the County.

David.

FreeCEN Co-ordinator for Clackmannanshire.

Keith,

I have looked at the original image for that 1871 Census record for 122 Spencer Street, Everton, Liverpool, and it is definitely Cathe (for Catherine) Sharp, age 40, born Clackmannanshire, and sister to Janet Roberts, Head of household, also aged 40 and also born Clackmannanshire.

David.

Hi David
Thanks for your two posts. I shall look at the FreeCen site in more detail when I have time.

When I first started I managed to find Janet Sharp on the 1871 census, but didn't make the connection with Cath Sharts , as Catherine Sharp had been transcribed, in the same household. This was brought to my notice by Monicalesi in an earlier post.

Thanks for the info.

Keith
