Hi Annie, well ive just come back from my search and had have found some info but it is very vague, i went to Delabole Quarry and asked and a man looked up a book that is for sale for £15 with alot of information of the history of the quarry and he looked to see if the Langdon name is mentioned sadly i couldnt look as he wanted me to buy it which i guess is fair enough but very frustrating! The name is mentioned a few times, I asked if he could tell me if there was an accident in 1910 and he had a look through and it did mention a blast accident of that year and on the same page it mentioned a Clarice Langdon and said she had 3 children (no names mentioned)
I personally would recommend you to get this book especially if alot of your relatives worked there.
Also it mentioned a Langdon that was killed in an accident there in 1869 which was one of there worst accidents recorded.
Im sorry it is very vague but the guy was quite busy.

I have been at Lanteglos church most of the day searching for any Langdons buried there and alot of graves are overgrown and impossible to read but i went through every grave i could access to and came across 2 Langdons (partners) William and Ann Langdon

- William Langdon grave reads - In Affectionate Memory of William Langdon of this Parish (Camelford) who departed this life on the 18th of May 1882 Aged 73years

- Ann Langdon grave reads - In Affectionate Memory of Ann Langdon Wife of the late William Langdon of Trefew in this Parish who died at Camelford 5th of August 1886 Aged 74 years

I have took some pictures of the graves and pictures the church inside and outside, sadly they dont keep records at the church, you would have to go to Truro to get the records.
It wont let me attch photos on here for some reason, do you have an email?

Trefew road is the next road where i used to live, it has a hotel called The Countryman Hotel at the bottom on the road which used to be called sunnyside hotel, the road leads to slaughters bridge which has a connection to King Arthur. Have you tried looking up cenuses? i will have a look and see what i can find on Trefew road, might find which house they lived in as the old houses are still there up the hill.

My, you have been busy.
Thanks very much for your help.   I really must look at buying the book  I know that some of the Langdon's you mention are mine, so to speak.
I have looked at all the censuses and have loads of info.  I suppose the logical thing to do would be to send for death certs.  That is going to cost me a bomb.
Clarice Langdon was the wife of Samuel, by the way.
Thanks again.
Annie.

I noticed you are looking for Prouts too, is that in Camelford are too? As there is quite a few Prouts buried at Lanteglos i noticed. Im glad i went as i came across a grave of a young woman aged 22 who was from Tregoodwell where i grew up and died at my friends house in 1876! and its very spooky as weve joked that the place is haunted! so im looking into that as well.
If you ever want me to go back then its never a problem as i visit quite often and is only a walk away.
All the best

Yes, my Prouts are all from Camelford.
Actually, there is a bit of an unanswered question in my research.  I will find out the details and get back to you.  Early night tonight.  First day back at work tomorrow after 5 weeks!
Your help is much appreciated.

Hi,
If it is not too much to ask, I would be grateful if you could let me know if ever you come across a headstone for Isaac Prout.  He was born in 1847.  In 1851 he was in Tregoodwell Village and then he disappears off the radar.  According to the 1851 census he was born in Lanteglos by Camelford.
Hope work went well!
Regards.
