Hello rootschatters,

Can anyone please advise me on how to do a cemetary search for the Keith area?

I have a William Russell Kidd died in Keith in 1900 and his wife Mary Jessie Kidd who died in Keith in 1921.

I have tried the libindx.moray but have had no luck finding where they are buried.

Are there any databases for Keith cemetarys?

All ideas gratefully recieved. :)

Regards

There are a couple of  places to look for MIs in the North of Scotland, none are comprehensive as yet, but they are constantly being updated so if you don't find what you are after just now it is worth checking back every month or two.

There are MI books published which cover some of the churchyards, these websites are indexes to those records. Some rootschatters have copies of the books which can be referenced if you ask nicely  ;D

Hope this helps

Hello Kirsty,

Thankyou so very much for those links.  My William and Mary were not there, but I did find another couple of relations!

As you say I will keep checking from time to time.

I really appreciate you  help :D

Cheers

Are there any databases for Keith cemetarys?

The Keith Broomhill Cemetery lair books are currently being transcribed and indexed on LIBINDX by a volunteer, but only about a quarter of them is done so far. So keep an eye on LIBINDX, because if they are buried in Keith they will eventually appear there. But don't hold your breath as it's a long project.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi Forfarian,  Thanks so much for the information.  I wish I had been doing family history when I visited Keith!  Never mind, will keep my eye out for it in the future.
