reply email

some times when ive commented or helped in a topic i get an email to imform me of a reply but other times i dont then may get an email after a few more postings have been added could anyone tell me if im doing something wrong.

I don't know how the system works, sometimes I get an e-mail if I've started the thread, sometimes I don't.  Sometimes I get an e-mail if I've contributed to the thread, sometimes I don't.  This happens on all boards, all I can think is there is a glitch in the system somewhere.  I usually just go to Show new replies to your posts when I log on to Roots, to find any threads I'm interested in.

Hi Neil

Unless you've changed the default settings in your Profile, you should get notifications of all new replies to topics you have posted on.

The exceptions are the Lighter Side and the Totally Off Topic board, if I remember rightly.

That said: there certainly are occasional "glitches" in the system!

I've not changed my default settings, but quite often I don't get e-mail notifications of replies to threads.  I don't worry, as I said I just go to Show new replies to your posts to find any new replies.

Thats never happened to me,I delete rootschats post every day once i have read and maybe replied to them.Maybe its something to do  with the Inbox mail.
