Earlier in this post you noted that you suspected Thomas Purdy that married Isabel was born 10 October 1744, Bamburgh, Father John.

An other entry from Bamburgh shows a John Purdy born 20 Jan, 1743. (I am trying to link this John to my line).

Do you think this line from Bamburgh may have moved to Morpeth??

Hi Blair,
Yes, I am not really sure but have a hunch that that is the one.
Yes, it is possible they moved to Morpeth but anything that far back is hard to confirm.
As they were both christening children at the same time in the same Church one would think there is a definite connection.

I must admit I only started to look for your Family just now on Census entries.
I am having trouble finding them.
Could you give me some details please;
When and where were they born and living in 1841/1851?

MMn just found another stray Purdy whilst looking at all Purdys born Northumberand and living in Morpeth in 1841;

Good evening Trish, sorry I took so long to reply I have been up to Morpeth for a few days. Yes we have been in contact before,along time ago vi'a Curious Fox I think. My connection to you is through JANE PURDY 27 May 1855 dau of John and Margaret      Jane Married my Gt. grandfather William Grey on the 8 May 1875 ( he was also a market gardener)   I went to woodhorn for 2 days doing research on my own name, Lathaen,   Lathan   Lathen  Lathim . The rest of time I spent driving round Northumberland ,it is a wonderful county

I just happened across your post and believe I am in possession of at least one photo of your great-grandfather, William 'Willie' Grey.
My great-grandmother, Edith Annie Veitch Thompson (born in Morpeth at Morpeth Workhouse in 1875) was ultimately raised by Margaret (Robson) Purdy. Edith subsequently moved to Canada in 1912 but kept in touch with the Purdy family. Her photos were ultimately passed down to me.
Ihave a number of photos of the Purdys.
One specific photo has 'Willie Grey' written on the back and the front shows 4 boys (I would say 14-16 years old) leaning up against a fence.
I also have photos of
Johnina 'Iny/Ina' Purdy Lennox, her husband William and there 6 children.
Eva Lennox (daughter of Iny and William). The back indicates address as 16 SpencerTerrace, Bensham

Also believe there is a photo of Purdy Grey.
