Hello there
I have just read your posting.   I too am researching my Norham family and wonder if you have come across the Smith family. You can see my messages at Ladykirk farm. :) You don't have any info re the Smiths of loanend, Norham, ncroft.  They were spread over this area and were farmers .  Many thanks. Violetta

Hi Gillie

I can't seem to get on your website.Do you happen to know if your Paxton family were doctor and son in Norham in early 1900's?  If so I will fill you in on detail.

Hi All,

I have changed the previous Paxton Kin web site to -

www.paxtonkin.com

as the previous site was always being taken down and I would have to go and re-instate it.

So, if you haev saved the previous site please update it.

Cheers

Hello patrexjax:  I see you have PAULIN from Berwickshire.  We too are researching the PAULIN family, specifically trying to find Mary PAULIN who was born abt 1815.  Her father might have been James PAULIN and mother Mary CURLE, but not proven and cannot find her connected to them.  They were in Berwick Upon Tweed in Northumberland before moving to Chirnside, Berwickshire, Scotland.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hello glenysjr, Thank you for your query regarding my PAULIN line.  Sadly, I do not see any connection at this time; almost all of my Paulin line were from the area around Ladykirk, Berwickshire.  If you find any connection of Paulins to that area, PLEASE feel free to contact me again!  Sincerely, Pat

Hi
Thanks so much.  I have not done any research for some time but only 30 mins ago came across something that belonged to John Smith my grt grandfather who was great friends with one of the paxtons - G P in Norham.  I then go on line and receive your e-mail.  I will log on to your website and have a look.

Will post you any relevant info.

Hi Violetta, Altho I do not have a website -- I think you are referring to the one that Gillie has posted.......please peruse it, too!  My Paxtons remain unlinked to hers....BUT mine did operate the Velvet Hall Inn in Norham during the early 1800's. Prior to that, my Paxtons appear to have been in Tweedmouth. If there is any possible connection, PLEASE contact me!  ;D  Pat

Hi Pat Sorry for the error.  I am a little out of date with my research- lack of time but Velvet hall is definitely a name I have read about.  No doubt my ancestors were familiar with it.  The paxtons could be linked  . I have a map I purchased with some useful names on it  - Norham and Berwick 1864 published by Alan Godfrey it has bee really useful to me. On it is listed Paxton John snr.surgeon, Paxton John junior surgeon-medical officer for Norham district, and public health officer.  This gentleman was my grandfathers guardian . Is this any help?  I do think paxton is a common name in the area.  I will keep in touch. jane
