Date and clean for this one please
« on: Tuesday 06 October 09 15:23 BST (UK) »
This is a copy of the original received by snail mail, dating would help to narrow down the identify of the lady.

Is the baby a boy or girl, I think boy, poor soul doesn't look very happy  ::)

Hi Keziah

Quick clean from me.  Hard to say whether the bub is a boy or a girl, but if I had to pick, I'd say boy.

Cheers

Hello Keziah
I would suggest late 1860's possibly up to 1870 when this V shaped bodice was popular. The blouse open at the neck was a feature of the late 60's.
I think this may provoke the argument of "is she or isn't she" ie. is this a Post Mortem photo.
The lady looks sad looking away from the camera rather than straightfaced. On this occasion I might say that this is a PM.

It's hard to tell as the deceased was posed to look alive or sleeping.Often with babies something moves giving a blurry look to an arm or head but this one's completely motionless but awake.

Thank you Jim, may help to solve who they are  by looking for death of an infant in the time frame within family tree.
