Hi Annie,   sorry if you already have this info 1851 census Joseph & mary & fam lived 8 Watt St. Nottm, 
1861 Mary 56, Ann 17, Emma 12 lived 1 Wat St, 
1861 Joseph at leics Union Workhouse but not down as inmate but servant.
1861 Reuben age 75 at Nottm union workhouse Unmar. prof cotton hose FWK

 Census 1841  Robert Kilner   age 50  b. Dublin Ireland 1791 FWK Journeyman chapel st. shepshed leics.   Could this be a brother

1881 ann kilner 35, john 45, emma 31, john 3 nephew, florence 9 visitor all live at 20 sneinton rd, nottm
also william kilner 41 41,  Edna wife 39 live at 24 sneinton rd.
also a few Kilners at Leics in 1881 census

are these any help             ruby

Yes, I suspect that Reuben and Joseph were brothers; my as far as I can see, joseph was an inmate, not a servant, in the Leic union workhouse in 1861!

Heaven knows where he was in 1841, or whether he ever married Mary. I despair of ever finding out.
