I did an advanced search on the Derry genealogy database and found that the father of Samuel Livingstone married 1877 was Samuel and the father of Catherine Walker married 1877 was Robert.

A search of the IGI which has Drumachose parish register transcript shows christenings in Limavady Church of Ireland that may help:

Samuel Livingstone & Jane [McCallion]
Issue John 1/10/1851
Issue Samuel 3/2/1854
Issue William 27/4/1857

Robert Walker & Mary Young
Issue Catherine 7/10/1858
Mary Jane 10/12/1860
Eliza 8/11/1863

For Wendl - from Ireland marriages on the IGI, county Londonderry:

Samuel Livingstone, 21, son of Malcomn Livinstone married 19 Aug 1861 in Carrick,  [probably Carrick Church of Ireland] to Mary Ann Nutt, daughter of David Nutt

You may have this already ;)

Wendl,
Another source gives the same marriage, Samuel Livingstone/Mary Ann Nutt, as 29 Aug 1861 in Largy Presbyterian Church, Parish of Carrick, Limavady. This church is about 3 miles south of Limavady on the road to Dungiven on the west bank of the River Roe. IGI gives one child, James, born 10 Jun 1867 and it also uses the spelling Levingstone.

Before Mother-in-law passed away, she gave me her information, and most of what you say fits.......but she always maintained that at some stage these 'Livingstones/Levingston etc came from Blantyre in Scotland..........I have never been able to get back further than the IGI entries, do records exist for ordinary working class men when the exodus from Scotland took place?

Thanks for going that extra 'mile' to give information, it's much appreciated.

Hi Annie

Dont know an awful lot about the livingstones of limavady and indeed if they came from Blantyre Scotland, but I can confirm that the photo that your posted is indeed my mothers mother marion and her grandmother Catherine! I also have this photo.  Sadly there are none of my mothers generation left, my mother was Mary Baird, she was one of five children.
Her mother Marion passed away when they were young and they were brought up by their father William who was indeed a POW in the war and had a brother Tommy who was killed in the Somme.
