Metropolitan Police Coronation Medal 1911 (King George V

I have one of these medals and I am trying to find out if it was presented to my grand father, who I believe was a Police Officer in England before migrating to Australia, or, my great grandfather who was an Estate Bailiff in Lincoln England. Where should I start searching please?

One of my ancestors who was in the Preston Police Force, received one of these medals and it was reported in the local paper, so I would suggest that you look in the appropriate local paper to see if it was reported.
