The IGI shows a  Riley Loveridge  married Esther Skerry at Olney, a couple of miles from Lavendon, on 12 Sept 1831. Thomas Lovelidge in 1871 had a son Riley born 1860.

There has to be a connection

Thomas and Susan had a  daughter Tryphena, one month old in 1871 living at Clapham. Her birth was registered in Bedford registration district in the March quarter 1871, vol 3b page 355. If you purchase the birth certificate from the GRO it will show her mother's maiden name. That should make it easier to trace the marriage of Thomas and Susan, which appears to have been around 1855 unless they had children earlier than 1856 who had left home by 1871

Hi David
I'm intrigued by what you said in your last post about Thomas & Susan marrying around 1855, i received an email from someone on another site who found a marriage between Thomas Loveridge & Susan Parker on the 21st April 1851, the marriage took place in Tilsworth,Bedfordshire and the fathers names were William Loveridge & William Parker, it all seems to fall into place until you look at their ages because it has them both aged 19yrs which when you work back, their dates of birth would've been around the early to mid 1830s when i always suspected it should've been the early to mid 1820s, it would be lovely if i could be 100% sure it's them but it's just the age discrepancy that casts a bit of doubt.

The only way to prove it is to buy Tryphena's birth cert.  If the mother's maiden name is Parker you're home and dry- other than their ages in 1871 seeming to be suspect

But as it appears from the Aaron Smith/Susan Loveridge marriage in 1894, a marriage could take place years after the couple started producing children

They weren't called Travellers for nothing!

Yes, you are correct , the only way to be sure is to buy Tryphena's birth cert, i'll get onto it straight away and i'll get back to you and let you know the outcome.

Cheers
