1841 census
« on: Tuesday 03 November 09 18:48 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find Joseph and Sarah Bunting.  They were married in Crich early in 1841.  I believe both came from Wessington.  Joseph was a widower so he was probably older than Sarah.

Any info would be great.

Thanks
Bh

Thanks for that.  Sounds like the right family as Joseph was a framework knitter on his marriage entry.

I don't suppose you have the 1851 census as well do you?  I know Joseph dies before 1866, but I don't know when.

Thanks

1861 RG9; Piece: 2516; Folio: 78; Page: 34

Alfreton

Henry Stacey widower head 62 yrs Iron Moulder b Brampton
James Stacey son 23 ys b Calak?
Henry Butler grandson 12 yrs b Pentrick
John Malin son in law unmarried 20yrs Iron Moulder b Belper
Sarah Bunting married 45 ys housekeeper b Notts Arnold

I wrote them all out because on the transcription it says that Sarah is a 'siter in law' but there is no entry for her in 'relationship' column.

(These other 'in law' means step children - usually.)

i have just logged onto this site and the Joseph and Sarah Bunting you were researching were my direct descendants ie Joseph was my g g g grandfather. I have my family line of Buntings descended from Joseph if you are interested. Let me know if you are interested and I will pass them on.
I have not, as yet, been able to go any further way back from Joseph. I shall be having a look at church records in Duckinfield sometime in the future. Do you have any information ?
Cheers
