Hello Chris Edwards

I've just stumbled onto this web page and found your post regarding Samuel William McKeowen. I remember finding this information before and I am the descendant of what I believe to be his younger brother John, who migrated to Australia in 1854. His father and mother were Patrick and Mary. They also had another son Patrick, three daughters Catherine, Anne and Jane who also migrated to Australia.
I'm trying to find further evidence of the family in Tyrone

Regards
Ann Brandon

Hello Buddy,
My name is Ritchie Hughes
My grandad Mickey Hayes used to box on the booths back in the day
Would love to know if any of your family may have any photos of him from then?

Hello,
My name is Ritchie Hughes
My grandad boxed on the McKeowens booths as well as Alfie Weston and Mel Reid
Would love to see if anyone has any old photos from the 50s to the 70s maybe there's an old one of him laying in a old album somewhere - he's 89 now and not been as well as he has been

Here's something to post about, Chris; Just tell me if ye think there's any earthly possibility of ye McKeowens being anything to do with the McKeon (Pronounced the same as yours) people found in Co. Leitrim ?

Couldn't help but notice the Patrick in there!  ;)

Hi, this is quite a late response, but I'm searching through the archives - my 2x great-grandparents were Michael McKeon and Catherine Duignan of Cloone, Leitrim. My great-grandfather Patrick McKeon was born in Cloone and he appears to have had at least four siblings; James, John, Anna and Charles. I think I'm also connected to a Henry McKeon as well and after my line emigrated to the US, there were several other McKeons living in the local area, including a Daniel (b. 1840), son of Harry/Henry. McKeon is also spelled McKeown, McEwan, and several other variants. My tree is on ancestry along with my DNA test.
