Hello Josie,

Try having a look on the Scottish Boards there are quite a few links worth having a look at.

For Scotland the GROS site:-

http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/index.php

Gives you access on a pay per view basis to bmd and some census.

There is a getting started article on this page:-

http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/index.php?area=content/features/getting_started/getting_started_1

Also Edinburgh library has a good page here:-
http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/CEC/Recreation/Libraries/Historysphere/Familyhistory/familyhist.html

This gives you an idea of what is available for Scottish reasearch in general.

One bonus with Scottish research is that they honour the female line - maiden names and mother's parents etc are always included in the post-1854 registries.  It helps!!

Cheers,
Pam
