Hi Everyone
This post has a bit of mix some people looking for info on Salkeld Square, Runcorn with others having an interest the Salkeld family who lived in Runcorn through the 1800`s this reply probably will be of more interest to the latter.
A book now out of print called "
SALKELDS through Seven Centuries" written by J. Grange Moore published by Phillimore ISBN 0 85033 644 9 the result of J. Grange Moore researching his Salkeld family history.
This book in two chapters 14) The Salkelds into Cheshire and 15) Arthur Salkeld and family, covers in great detail the Runcorn Salkeld`s the chapters even have sketch drawings of Runcorn and properties the Salkeld families lived in.
These include :-
No 29) 12 Waterloo Road, Runcorn
No 30) 13 The Holloway, Runcorn
No 31) All Saints Church, Runcorn
No 32) Kinderton House, Runcorn
No mention of a Salkeld Square though
J. Grange Moore did not live to see his work published a real shame it is a very good source of information on the Salkeld family especially the early families of Cumberland and Westmorland also Runcorn of course.
It is still possible to get a copy of the book although the prices being currently asked are a bit steep
