Pte 2519 Thomas Price WW1
« on: Monday 16 November 09 10:44 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to prove that Pte 2519 Thomas Price of the 8th Lancs Fusiliers was my grandad Thomas Price 10/10/1878 married to Mary Ann Price ( Stone ) in 1902.
My grandad lived in Hulme, Manchester and I know his wife Mary Ann remarried in 1917.
Pte 2519 Thomas Price died in Cairo 8/4/15 and his address in the Great Roll of Honour was given as 14 Lord Street, Hulme in the immediate area where my family lived.

I cannot locate him in the service records.

Any help to prove the link or background would be greatly appreciated.

American abbreviation changed to British one to avoid confusion  ;)

Hi

His records were most probably among the many that were destroyed in the WW2 German bombings.  I cannot find any trace of my relative either for WW1!  :'(

Have you tried the 1911 census?

Only 4 years before his death, the family may well be at an address that matches.
