Spalding Parish Registers

I have found the marriage of Joseph Tidswell to an Elizabeth Maddock in 1821. The only Christening I can find that would roughly fit Joseph is 1793 or 1795 the son of Joseph Tidswell and Elizabeth

Does anyone have access to the Parish Records for Spalding? I would like to know Elizabeth's surname and the date they married.

Later generations were Primitive Methodists so I'm not 100% sure if they married in the Parish Church or the Methodist Chapel. If the marriage isn't recorded in the Parish register then I need to find the records for the Primitive Methodist Chapel if it was in existence circa 1790.

  Freereg has this marriage which would tie in with a baptism of daughter Ann as first born

  Elizabeth Jackson  St Mary & St Nicholas Spalding 24 Nov 1777.

 Ann bapt to Joseph & Elizabeth 1778 13 Nov

I think you could be right Tazzie. 

I looked at their children on the IGI and most of the names are the same as for Joseph Tidswell and Elizabeth Maddocks who married 1821. So it could be the same family regurgitating the same names generation after generation. Thank you so much for your help.

Hello Margaret,

Joseph Tidswell 1793 and Elizabeth Mattocks are my 3rd great grandparents.  I have their marriage record from the Lincolshire Archives.  Joseph's parents were Joseph Tidswell and Elizabeth Jackson who married 24th Nov. 1777 at St. Mary St. Nicolas Church in Spalding, Lincolnshire, again I have this marriage record. Are you related to the Tidswell's ?

No I'm not related to The Tidswell's I'm doing the tree for a friend of mine. I would love to share any info I have with you but as you've got so far back I don't suppose I can help much.
