Thank you for that - how do you go about sharing the details? Is there a common program or file format people use for this?

Cheers
Don

Hi Fiona
just wondering if you would had any info on the children that came out to New Zealand ( busy trying to peice together my Grandmothers Birth Family while in lockdown)

I know she was connected to Walter Guthrie  who owned alot of businesses in Dunedin Otago but i think her may have been her grandfather  ( her father had left his first wife but unable to divorce  and nana was the result to his next relationship with a lady called Mary Canty )

Hi Kelcgare,

Who did you think was your Nanas father ? You didn't type the father's name.

It's ages since I've looked at the Guthrie tree so my memory is a bit rusty.
Is it info pre NZ about the children that came from Fife that your hoping to find. Off the top of my head, I think there was 2 brothers and a sister but will check.

Fiona

Hi Fiona

I have had a good few days doing some research and found most of the information , my mum also dug in the paper files at home and got alot of guthrie history that nana was given before she passed . My nanas Father was William Ernest Guthrie , his father was Walter Guthrie who came to nz from Scotland  . Very hard to trace my nanas history when she had 3 different surnames by the time she was 7 but luckily I found the papers that fully documented her life and her birth parents families so that gives me somthing to work on through isolation!
