Can't see a Charles at St. A the Great around that year.

Bates Francis Tunwell is there:-
Baptised 1 March 1768 son of Thomas and Ann.
Burial 31 October 1806 aged 39

These are the children I can see baptised at St. A the Great all sons of Thomas and Ann Tunwell:

5 October 1769    Thomas Tunwell
26 February 1771     Henry Sherwood Tunwell
27 September 1776     William Bland Tunwell

Can't see a marriage for Thomas and Ann but the use of the names Bates and Francis suggest an earlier connection with that parish as they occur previously.

Just a suggestion to bear in mind!

I can't see a marriage for a Thomas Tunwell around the right time on the marriage index apart from one in 1762 at Trumpington.  As this is just an index there are no other details.

However as one of the sons has the second name Bland I looked for the marriage of an Ann Bland and there is one in 1762 at Trumpington.

Perhaps someone else will have the P.R. to see if they married each other!

You have solved a major query I have had in that a William Bland Tunwell married in Norwich in 1801 and you have found him - well donr

Are you sure that the baptism of Henry Dherwood Tunwell is not Sherman.

The reason I ask that Henry Sherman Tunwell died age 60 in 1831 and that would fit exactly for that man.

Ther is also a marriage of Henry Tunwell  & Elizabeth Sherman in 1734 at St Edwards and I supsect that Thomas the father of Bates etc may be a son of this Henry and that is why the son was baptised Henry Sherman Tunwell.

I will have to see if I can get a lookup for a mafrriage or baptims for thoams
in that Parish.

Definitely Henry Sherwood on my Parish Register transcription I have just re-checked it, sounds like the same person though, so could be an error was made at some point.
