Have done some ferreting around (1891-1911 and BMD)

Unfortunately,  Rhys's parents, Evan Gape and Sarah Thomas only had two children and only Rhys survived. Given that they are looking for descendants, I'm assuming that Rhys didn't marry.

So, tis going back to Evan and Sarah's sibs and searching for cousins.

By 1901, Rees had again increased his family.  Extra children not mentioned on 1881 census are:
David A (18)
Blodwen (17)
Edith (15)
Rufus (7)
Elwyn (1)

all children born in Ystalyfera.
