Hi Annie

Your link doesn't work, so I pasted the reference into a search engine.  It looks as though the record isn't available online and would need either a visit to Kew or you'd have to correspond by post with them.

I'll move this to the L&M board, where hopefully the Moderators can help you!

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

This is what it says in the online catalogue Annie:

"PC  Records of the Privy Council and other records collected by the Privy Council Office
Division within PC  Records of the Privy Council
PC 1  Privy Council and Privy Council Office: Miscellaneous Unbound Papers
Subseries within PC 1  PAPERS OF THE PRINCE DE BOUILLON (PC 1/115-122)
PC 1/115  French: various (items 1-428); English: personal (items 429-490, 1777-1801); English: naval (1795). Described at item level. In Sept 2009, it was noted that the items relating to this piece had an additional erroneous digit within their catalogue references.

Annie, as far as I can see the "extra bit " is just text, not a URL.

You can ask TNA for a quote to scan the document and email it to you. The document ref is PC 1/115/35.

There was a Groizard who was commander of the French army battalion attached to the Etat-Major- General in 1796 - any relation?

Oh my Shaun ! .... a commander of the French army ?? wouldn't that be a turn up for the books ??  :D :D

I'm not sure if my relatives would be up to that !!!!!!!!!

Thanks for looking though ! - OK so I have to ask for the scan first ? I can't get it open to see if he's really mine ?

All we know is that the subject is Louis Groizard. spouse of Louise Verte, and it is with the papers of the  Prince de Bouillon.

The Prince de Bouillon was Admiral L'Auvergne, born in St Helier in 1745 - and maintained his Jersey connections. See http://www.rootschat.com/links/07of/
