NZ BMD'S at Queensland State Library

Hi all,

Some of you may have noticed a post I removed yesterday as it concerned living persons. The poster is interested in some late marriages and births from NZ. I was a little confused, but poster has now let me know that it is the Queensland State Library and provided me this link.

I was quite surprised by the years of access suggested. - to 1990

I know NZ Online records certainly have strict access (100 years for births)

Wondering if this is so, what it consists of, and if anybody may be able to access it privately for the member?

a quick google and I see WA Library also (microfiche) so may make searching difficult.

Possibly also available at other Australian Libraries and also available at NZ libraries.

Hopefully the New Zealanders will be able to shed some light on this.

Births that occurred at least 100 years ago
Stillbirths if registered at least 50 years ago.
Marriages and eventually Civil Unions that occurred 80 years ago
Deaths that occurred at least 50 years ago or the deceased's date of birth was at least 80 years ago.

But fiche are available held at NZ libraries and genealogy groups to get an idea of what is available go to
