(Chichester) 1841/1851 Census Lookup Requests For Randall Rossiter

Hi,

I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents, grandparents, siblings and children of Randall Rossiter, who married Charlotte Cole on February 23rd 1819 at St Peter The Less Church, Chichester.

It is not very clear from your post what you are actually asking for census return or information such as BMDs.  If census returns some names and dates would be helpful.

Thanks for that.

At this stage, I think finding them in the census would be the most helpful so that I can get their years of birth and their birthplaces, which will give me a clue where to start looking for ancestors and descendants.

I can only find one Randal Rossiter in FreeBMD and a few on Familysearch.org but I have already accounted for their ancestries.

They are an unusual combination of names and I am hoping that they will be relatively easy to find.I am also hoping that I already have his ancestors in my database and that it will be a  simple matter to link him up. Then again  you can never tell how these things will turn out.

I would appreciate any information you can find please as at the moment my usual sources of enquiry have provided virtually nothing.

Hi again

Wonderful name, you would think it would prove easy but its not!

Nothing coming up on census records at all

However I did find a couple of burials which could prove as leads.

Charlotte Rossiter, buried on 22 March 1823
age 19 weeks
at St Peter the Great, Chichester
from Lavant

Charlotte Rossetter
buried on 30 January 1846 at Chichester St Paul
age 42 years from High Street

Hmmm scrap that last one - no don't have found he is one and same person

Found her on the 1841 married to John Rossetter born 1796 in the High Street, Chichester

Many, many thanks for that brilliant bit of detective work.

Even with the new information I still can't find anything from my usual sources.

Strangely, I cannot find a death for John Rossiter.

I'm wondering if the children survived to 1851 or beyond or not.

As a matter of interest, are there any other Rossiters in East Lavant please?
