www.freebmd.org.uk is where we all go to look for births, deaths and marriages.   It is not full coverage yet but getting there.  There are various paying sites which have the entire index on.  For instance, if you are a member of Ancestry then you can search on there.
The deaths I found may not be the right ones - I can't find twins in that year born anywhere however as Rosie said - information given at death can be very unreliable.
Take care not to post details of living people as that is not allowed.
If you are ordering the certificate do it via the GRO site - not Ancestry as they charge a lot extra.  It should be £7 - assuming you are in the UK.

Keep this on the back burner as a possible - it may be a total red herring but it is the only twins in that quarter of that year.  Ref Brentford 3a 155

1901 census RG13 1201 16 24    2 Old Oak Lane Acton
Edward Francis 56 farmer b Bath
Mary 41 b Lambeth
Thomas 19 b Lambeth
Henry 16
John 13
Kate 11
Nellie 10 all b Hammersmith
Maria 8
Ethel 7
Fred 6
Alfred 4
James 4
Rose 1 all b Acton

Some of the names match the children of James too.  Maybe just coincidence but looking at the free index for 1911 this family are in Suffolk.
Be interesting to see what the marriage certificate says.

Hi Kim,
Further to your post (29 December 09 ), Some of your info is slightly wrong.

James Francis was born in January 1897, He did have a twin brother but it was
ALFRED not THOMAS,
His sister ETHEL was born on the same day of the month but 3 years earlier.

Now here's a coincidence for you, Three of the eight children James and Lillie
Francis were also born on the same day of the month (February), Clifford, Edward and Rosemary, but in different years.

The eight children were, ( in arrival order ),

Fredrick,  (now deceased)
Clifford,   (now deceased)
Gordon,   (now 85 years old)
Edward (Ted), (now 83 years old) Had lunch with him yesterday.
Rosemary, (now 81 years old) Having lunch with her a week tomorrow.
Olive,  (now 79 years old)
Norman, (now 72 years old)
Morris David (deceased 1961)

Please come back to me if you require any more help with YOUR family tree, if I am able to help I will be happy to do so, after all you are family.
