James Price c1830
« on: Thursday 31 December 09 09:21 GMT (UK) »
Tracing the Price family back and I have in census records a James Price (1851) birthplace Bradworth, Radnorshire.
I then look at 1841 census for him in Radnorshire and can only find a suitable candidate living in Penyforest, Llansaintffraed In Elvel, Radnorshire.

The common denominator is that of the family occupation being Blacksmith.
My question is:

Is Bradworth near Penyforest as i cannot find Bradworth on Google maps

Hi Kenny,

Do you have a reference for the 1851 census return that you found?

I had a quick look and I could find 3 James Price born +/-2 1830, born in Radnorshire - one born in Presteign, Aberedew (?), and Beguildy.  :-\

Hi Spidermoney

I may have been slightly premature with this posting.
Since I did it, I have seen the original plus other census returns and I no longer think that the place is called Bradworth. Broadheath looks more likely, although still in Radnorshire.
He moved to Birmingham and married an Elizabeth c1832, she was from Gloucestershire. HO107/2061/~F309 is the folio ref on genealogist if that helps.

Regards

No worries, Kenny.  I looked at the 1851 census image and agree that it is Broadheath, Radnor.  My husband thinks that Broadheath is not too far from Presteigne.  Hope that helps  :)
