Bucksboy, I reckon Jack Ives used to dig our garden in Darvill Road Stone around 1960.  My Dad worked at the hospital.  Jack was indeed a quiet, gentle man.  He once asked my Mum for a glass of water 'without any of that cold stuff in it'.  Ice!

Hi there Roachy.

Yep.....he was a gardener alright. ;D

Nice to know he was looked after.  I only met him once, and that was around 1962-1963, at Christmas, when he came over for the day with his sister, my aunt Hilda.

Thanks for your memory of him, much appreciated. ;)

Steve. :)

I have seen your post on Stone Asylum. We have an ancestor who worked there and I have a photo of the staff. It is now a housing estate.

Would it be possible for you to post the photo on here. :)

I've tried to upload the photo of the Staff, from Stone Hospital.....but the file is too large.  I've reduced it to 3.4kb, but it's still too big.  I cannot reduce it any more, or the some individuals will be missed off.  Sorry. :(

Do you have Photo Shop or Picassa, - because you can reduce the size of photos down very easily with these, - & others I am sure.

I've reduced it to 3.4kb in Picasa 3, and the max upload here is 4kb.   So I'm baffled as to why it will not upload. ???

That does seem strange...

You could try emailing the MOD for this Board, & seeing what they advise.
