1851 Census Sussex - Pridgeon
« on: Monday 14 March 05 16:05 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace Thomas Jameson Pridgeon born 1819 in Ashton Lancs. He married Sarah Whitmore (Brn 1821 in Redhill) in 1846 at St Nicholas Church, Brighton. And later in the 1850's moved to Bletchley.

At the time of their marriage they were living in German Place (now Madeira Place) but I do not know how long for.

Grateful for any info especially if there were any children.

If this is the wife she is a servant(nurse) in Northamptonshire on the 1851 census - but without Thomas :-\

Hi,

Thank you for looking on the fiche for 1851. I think Thomas by then was in the army and in either the 8th Kings Royal Irish Dragoons or in the 10th Hussars. His whereabouts between 1841 and 1846 when he married Sarah Pridgeon are still a mystery. Presumably he is in the army for some of this time.

Many thanks for your look up.

Happy New Year

You are quite right Sarah worked for the Stopford family at Drayton House for a number of years it seems and visited again in 1861. I am in touch with the archivist for the family and his research so far indicates that sarah worked for the family before she married in April 1846. I am still trying to work out how Sarah and Thomas got together and where Thomas was in 1841.

Happy New Year
