I have lost touch with relatives In England. Their last known address was #3 the Mead, Beckenham Kent ...surname Russell, J
Is there some way of finding out if they are still there?

Sorry, don't have many ideas on this one, although you might try http://www.192.com/ which is the telephone directory online (it won't help if they are X directory though).  Never used it myself, so unsure what info it provides apart from the name and phone number.

I've just tried diectory enquiries but nothing came up for Russell at The Mead , Beckenham. Like Jonathan says, they could be ex-directory. The address should come up as well as the phone number on a successful  look up.

Have you tried the Electoral Rolls for Beckenham?   If they are still in the same area they should be listed.   The Library or the local council should hold copies.

Thanks everyone.  John Eric Russell..His wife's name is Betty. She was born in 1920.Is there a place to look for Beckenham obits? I'm posting from Canada.

Not sure whether you've already got this now, but I've found John E Russell and Betty on 192.com 'Enhanced directory 2002' at 3 The Mead Beckenham Kent BR3 5PE. There is also Philip S and Rosemary M. Thet don't come up on British Telecoms Directory Enquiries so no phone number. It must be worth a letter because even if they have moved in the last couple of years, the new people may have a forwarding address.
