Kilmersdon PR
« on: Sunday 03 January 10 19:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have a Thomas Denning who marries Sarah Rickets in Kilmersdon 17 Jan 1791.  I have a bap for Thomas 29 Jan 1769 Kilmersdon, all off the IGI.  From the IGI for Sarah there are submitted entries for B~1771 or 1772.  I have found an extracted record on the IGI bap 28/5/1771 Presbyterian Ashwick, and Ashwick is in the Kilmersdon Hundred!

Can some kind soul check Kilmerdon to see if there was another Sarah Rickets bap about this time 1770-1772 Othewise I will take the Ashwick girl as mine. ;)

Also according to others trees on Ancestry Thomas died/buried 1835 and Sarah died/buried 1833 - I'm guessing these would be Kilmersdon too.  Please can ask for a burial check too.

best wishes for 2010

Hello Spark

Have you tried the Yahoo group for Kilmersdon hundred ?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kilmersdon/

I've found the hundred groups for Somerset incredibly helpful for lookups so far...

Especially looking for - Sealey, Rogers, Cannings, Box, Sheppard in Wiltshire; Virgin, Slade, Abbott, Saint, Harper, Silverthorn in Somerset; and Virgin, Tarr, Beer in Devon

And most especially the origins of William Cannings,  a Baptist, born abt 1791 in Broughton Gifford, Wiltshire

Hi Angela,

I wasn't aware of this group, just joined - awaiting acceptance by the mods.  Will see if they can help.

These groups are really good and the Somerset ones are full of enthusiasts  ;D I think it's partly because the IGI is so thin on Somerset information. I've bought a few sets of fiche of parish records myself and have transcribed them. The transcribed ones usually end up in FreeReg as well as the Yahoo group but of course people do have fiche they haven't got round to transcribing yet....

Good luck  :)

Angela

Thanks Elizabeth that is the same as the IGI record and no other Sarah Rickets can be found.

So she looks like a duck and quacks like a duck :):D

Hi Spark

I realise this is an old request but I only just came across it. (George) Thomas Denning and Sarah Rickets were my ggg grandparents.

Best wishes

Paul
