We've got a great team working here, thanks.
Alison, that's our Thomas, thank you. The link to imagineering is broken now, but I'll try it again tomorrow.
mum mum, thanks for the suggestion, but I think it may be a different strand. There are quite a few other Craiks out here, but I've found no cross-pollination with our lot as yet.
Cando, sorry about my incomplete instructions.
www.tayles.com.au opens up our 'home' page. Click on [HERE] to get to our tree, then in the search box at the top RH corner type Craike, or better still, I7011, (letter I, 7011) which takes you straight to our man-of-the-moment Thomas.
If you then click on [Map], the embedded GoogleMap shows you the locations Thomas frequented. At the LHS is the Zoom Zipper, so after clicking the [Satellite] button you can zoom in and see how Thomas' old vineyard was looking before the drought. When these Google photos were taken, it was green, and Lake Eppalock was about 30% full. It's been down to less than 5% for the past few years.
Yes, I was back-to-front re Sandhurst/Strathfieldsaye. The whole Bendigo town area was called Sandhurst back in the mid 1800s, but not now (except for some business names). Some of The Argus articles refer to Thomas as being from Sandhurst. Should you also look at Thomas Jr (I7017), you can read about the Ash Murder Mystery in his hut at Strathfieldsaye.
Thanks, Cando, for all your pointers.
Again, I thank everyone for all for your help. I'll poke it all into the tree tomorrow night.
Good night,
inept
