Alfred and Napoleon Hall to the USA late 1800s?
« on: Saturday 09 January 10 17:54 GMT (UK) »
My family records suggest that Alfred William Hall and Napoleon Frederick Hall emigrated to the USA.  They were sons of William Hall and Emma Riddell, Wiltshire, England.

Alfred was born in 1868, Little Langford, Wiltshire, England.  Napoleon was born in 1879, Kingston, London, England.

Alfred is not at home in the 1891 census and Napoleon has left before the 1901 census, so if they did go to the States it would likely to have been around the late 1800s.

If anyone can help find them that would be very wonderful.

Many thanks ... Simon

Possible matches?  The 1900 Census gives Napoleon's birth date as Jul. 1879.

WWI Draft Registration Card
Frederick Napoleon Hall
48 Falmouth St., Boston, Mass.
Age 39, born 11 Jul. 1879
White, naturalized US citizen
Apt. house janitor - employer William Arthur, 60 Falmouth St., Boston, Mass.
Nearest relative - wife Helen Loretta Hall, same home address
Medium  Height & build, light gray eyes, dark brown hair, blind in left eye

WWII Draft Registration Card
Frederick Napoleon Hall
19 Dalton St., Boston, Mass.
Age 62, born 11 Jul. 1879 in Surrey, England
Person who will always know his address:  Florence C. Hall, same home address
Employer - E. Power, 40 Falmouth St., Boston, Mass.
Place of employment - 19-21-23-25 Dalton St., Boston, Mass.
White, 5' 6 1/2 " tall, 190 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair, ruddy complexion

There is an entry on a naturalization index for Frederick N. Hall, born 11 Jul. 1878 in Surrey Co., England, living at 9 Belvidere St., Boston, and naturalized on 17 Sep. 1900.  It looks like they were at 91 Belvidere St. on the 1900 Census.

Alfred and his family (wife Emma - age 35, children Edith (10), Alf. (6), Maud (6), and Kate (3)) are on the Saxonia from Liverpool to Boston, 25 Mar. 1904.  The youngest 3 children were born in the US.  It says they were previously in the US for 10 years, their last residence was London, and they were returning to their home at 91 Belvidere St., Boston.  Alfred's occupation looks like Estate Agent.
