You must have more info than that?

No Cassie/ Caroline/ Cassandra in Barry in 1891.  Who were her parents?  Do you know her full name or is it Cassie?  Does she have brothers and sisters?  Where was she born?

Sorry to bombard you, but THOMAS is such a "popular" name, that we need to narrow it down a bit.

Hi, Thanks for the help. Her full name was Mary Catherine Thomas known as Cassie born in 1887 fathers name we think is Joseph. She had brothers Leslie, Benjamin, Thomas and at least one sister Gladys, not sure if these are older or younger than her though.

We are actually looking for Mary Catherine Thomas, I thank everyone for the contibution but I am more confused now than every. She is my great grandmother and was know by all her family as Cassie but on her marriage cert in 1907 she is Mary Catherine Thomas.

Did I look up the wrong family then?? It all looks so much like the family you were looking for !! All the names seemed correct - I thought Bessie may have been read wrongly by the transcriber ( happens alot)- and should have been Cassie -the Dad's name fits and 2 siblings seem to fit - there was a Mary THOMAS aged 12 with a sister Lily aged 15 living with parents - they were born in Dennis,  Pembroke but living in Barry.

The parents were:

James Thomas  42 Pembroke Fishgaurd Glamorgan Barry Dock Gateman
Frances Thomas  40 Pembroke Dennis Glamorgan Barry

However I checked the births for the girls and it seems they were born in Cardigan ( PEM) and mary was Mary Ellen Thomas.

Perhaps you could tell us exactly what is on the marriage cert and how you came by it....witnesses might give more clues as well -

There was no suitable Mary Catherine THOMAS in 1891.  I offered Catherine in my earlier post as the "nearest thing" and because if she was known as Cassie it seems logical to assume she didn't use the Mary part of her name.
