Greetings from Canada

Trying to track a family who were in Killearnan in 1822 and Rosemarkie 1826.

Alexander and Catherine Falconer originally from Forres, Moray.  He is listed as a church music teacher/precentor. 
 Son William born 1822 in Killearnan and son Alexander born in Rosemarkie in 1826. By 1832 they were in Thurso. 

Was there only one parish church in each parish at that time?
