Foreign Ancestors

Hi all,

I've finally decided to grab the bull by the horn and research my mum's branch.  What a nightmare!

My mother was born in Germany but her parents were born in Austria (now Czech Republic)....the thing is I get the idea that they come from Russia originally because of the surnames.

Grand father was:  Siegmund Weseley b: 1883 Vsetine CZ (then Austria)   His father > Innozenz Veseley b: 1850 Osvetimany, His Father > Tomas Veseley b:?

Grand mother was: Emilie Rozena Kundratek b: 1884 Olmutz, Kelch, her father > Franz (Franisek) Kundratek b: 1836  Kelch, Czech Republic (then Austria) his Father Franz Kundratek.

Wives names include Posnik, Ficek, Belocky, Hynek, Foltyn, Smakel, Pereskova and Ruzicka and Ruzickova (same name but female and male versions)

Can anyone give me some tips on how to go about this?

Any input greatly appreciated.
