waters in irvine 1871 census completed

hi,

it is not often that i get stuck with census details but this one is doing my nut in!

on the 1881 census, william waters is living in paisley with his wife mary cowan and a few children.

57 new sneddon street, paisley

william...34...manager in chemical works...born c1846 cambusnethan


i have tried in vain finding him on the 1871 census, his sons william and john were born in irvine before the 1871 census, alexander was born in irvine on the 3/9/1871.

i jumped back to the 1861 census and the 51 and the 41 and cannot get any info from any of the censuses, can anyone help?

The best I can find is WESTERS which has some similarities.  You would need to check the image on SP.  Living in Irvine (Dundonald).  Mary & children shown as b Dundonald

Hello

From the IGI, born to to a couple of this name in all of Sotland 1840 to 1880 (William Waters and Mary Cowan), all born Irvine Ayr.  As the IGI has a cut off of 1875 there may have been other children born after this.


William Waters b. 04 May 1866
John Waters b.06 July 1868
Alexander Cowan Waters b.  03 Sep 1871
Archibald Fleming Cowan Waters b.14 May 1874
