Locate a wedding certificate

Hello,I am trying to locate a wedding certificate for my great grand parents,the names i am looking for are:Patrick Crowe and Catherine Deegan,i believe they were married in Carlow around 1877.i have tried the Carlow office for births,deaths and marriages with no luck,i hope someone can help with this search.

Hello Shane,thanks for the link i have just had a look and there is a Patrick Crowe for Carlow.I wonder if you could tell me how the film, page, volume nos. work,hope you can help.

this looks like the index details you need :

 Name: Patrick Crowe
 Registration district: Carlow
 Record type: Marriage
 quarter and year: 1877
 Volume: 8 / Page: 327

 Name: Catherine Deegan
 [same index details]

you can order research cert (€4) from the GRO using these.. see : http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm

Hello Shane,i have tried the Carlow registry office,but they could not find the record,would it make a difference trying the G.R.O. in Dublin.

I am not familiar with what records the Carlow office have, or if the index details they use are the same.. but those references should be ok for the GRO head office.

p.s. the GRO office for postal orders is in Roscommon
