I don't know if it's too late to ask this but when you go to the archives. Can you lookup Elsie Esther Kelling (sometime named Elize or Eliza. born in 1862 in St Heliers.  Married William Blampied in the mid 1880s. I would like to confurm that one I found on the census is the same one.

Sorry - I didn't get round to this bit today.   I'll try next time.

So let me try to understand here. Are there 2 Charles married to Marie Picot? One father of John b1823 and Charles b1815, and another father of Charles b1791.

The Charles born in 1791 married a girl with the same name as his mother, or Am I missing something? ???

It's confusing because there are 3 generations of Charles and two John Blampieds - not including those in other families:

Charles B  b.1791 m. Marie Picot
                     |
Sons:  John Blampied b.1823
           Charles Blampied  b. 1815  m. Rachel Blampied b.1805
                                 |
              Charles Blampied b.1836
              John Blampied b.1839
              Rachel Blampied b.1841
              Joshua Blampied b. 1845

I hope this helps - but please accept that this is only my interpretation of the data.   I don't know how to attach a tree onto this response, but if you send me personal message with your private e-mail address I will attach a file.

Oops ... sorry, there is probably more than one!

I have also found Eliza Kelling and family on the 1871 census - so perhaps Elizabeth Esther Kelling is another person.

I also have found her birth entry -
Eliza Esther Kelling   -
St Helier  9.10.1861 - 30.10.1862,  Page 50

(she does not appear in St Helier Parish church baptism register - so may be baptised elsewhere?)

You can order the certificate from -
The Superintendent Registrar
10 Royal Square
St Helier,  Jersey   JE2 4WA
