Rev. William L Martin, Berriew
« on: Thursday 17 March 05 05:42 GMT (UK) »
This man is my g-g-uncle.  He was Vicar of Berriew from about 1894 until he retired in 1912.

I have him on the census but am posting this just in case anyone knows anything about his time in Berriew and work with the church.  Anything at all would be extremely welcome!

Thanks,

MarieC

Hi Marie

If you look here http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/MGY/Berriew/ in the Bibliography section there's a book mentioned called "Mr Martin's Retirement"  Could this be your Rev William Martin? :)

Thanks Jan!

I'd say, extremely likely.  He was at Berriew for a long time and retired from active ministry there, in 1912.  But of course, being in Australia it's most unlikely that I'll get to see that book, unless I manage to get to Wales some time.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention, anyway!
