Thanks for the re-scan - will see what can be done and get back to you asap.

I can tell you now that it's not easy, even when you can read this kind of German writing, not everyone wrote well.

I understand, I suppose that is why they try to teach the children of today to write in a specific style.
Thanks

Hello Manga - and others interested,

I've done the best I can with this translation into readable German. Perhaps you will find someone else who is kind enough to translate the German bits into English - I just don't have time, sorry!

Very much of it is impossible to translate because it is impossible to read - i.e. the writing is so terrible. It is also 'Amtsdeutsch' - stilted legal German - and uses Latin and French words too.
I have done the 10 pages beginning with behrm.3 of what you posted and will post them asap - I've just deleted my word document by mistake and will have to re-type it.  :-[ :-[

The gist is the following: Anton Ewald Behrmann who lives in Hoppenrade has asked for permission to move to Schwerin for one year. He also asks for permission for a sister and younger brother. He is given permission (on 31.07.1826) but not his sister and brother.
In order to get this permission he has had to give details of his previous life etc. Obviously there was no 'freedom of movement' when you wanted to move house at that time.
The documents are a collection of the 'back and forward' (red tape) between him and the authorities - in this case the town authorities - not a court.
It is not clear if he ever took up the asked for residency.
