Hi

Can't help with the baptism and I don't think there will be many of that name so his birthyear won't be an issue.  If nothing can be found - a copy of his second marriage cert should (hopefully) show his fathers name

The 1841 shows him b 1791 and his death reg in 1878 shows 1792

The 1851 has him aged 55 so b 1796 and he was a widower

1861 birthyear 1799 and re-married to Rebecca.  There is an 1851 marriage in Leics but no wife's name shown

1871 shows 1794

I notice that both Cardy snr and Cardy jnr died in the same qtr of the same year

Hi again Ruth.

I think it looks like Cardey's 2nd marriage was to
Rebecca Chesterton? as listed separately on Freebmd.

I will ask on the Leicester board especially Mike, whether
anyone knows of the marriage.

Linked topic.

The marriage for Cardy is September qtr 1851 Leicester 15  152
The marriage for Rebecca is same ref but page 132

On freebmd - there are no other entries on the same page for Cardy's entry and Cardy does not appear on the same page as Rebecca's entry

However - the GRO index shows page 132 against Cardy's entry

Thank you greatly for that Mike.

I am glad the method I used proved correct.

It wasn't hard.  :)

The full details are greatly appreciated.

I will now lock the other thread.
